Remembering Belencita

She carries the name of her mother and bears that love which she had passed on to others through her life . She is also fondly called by a name of a child (Ineng) and had lived in continuous awe of the goodness and beauty of others. Thank you for taking time, this website celebrates the life of our beloved Tita, Lola, Ate and Mommy Ineng.

My oldest and most vivid memory as a child was observing  a paled-colored book being gently flipped, my eyes enlarged marveling on images of a man engulfed by a sea monster, a giant slain by a shepherd boy and a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes being sent down a river to save his life. As mommy whispered these stories to me, I found some of them fascinating, others rather odd but what mattered to me then was more of the comfort and warmth in resting on her chest and her lap.

Now that I am no longer a child, I look back and I am certain those were the moments that have allowed me to understand the depth of what love and faith are. And during those moments where I saw my mom pulled the last bill from her purse to give it to us, or when she mustered all the strength out of her sickness to whisper a prayer for her family; I thank the Lord because He has allowed us to touch and understand grace in flesh through my mom’s life.
